Xarelto Cases Mount in Philadelphia Court

Approximately 75 cases against Xarelto manufacturers Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Healthcare have been filed and collected under a mass tort docket, according to an order in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, all alleging similar unstoppable bleeding injuries from the dangerous anticoagulant. Attorney Michael Weinkowitz stated of the docket, “The creation of a mass tort program benefits the Court system and the parties by eliminating duplicative discovery, inconsistent rulings and promoting the efficient prosecution and resolutions of similar cases.” As thousands more claims are anticipated to be filed throughout the nation, attorneys expect many of them to be filed in Pennsylvania, now that this mass tort docket has paved the way for injured Xarelto patients seeking relief.
