Stryker Announces Settlement with Revision Surgery Patients
In December 2016, Stryker Corporation announced that it had reached an agreement to compensate additional patients who underwent revision surgery to replace their Rejuvenate Modular-Neck hip stem or ABG II Modular-Neck hip stem. The settlement was reached on behalf of plaintiffs in New Jersey multicounty and federal multidistrict litigations. Compensation will be made available to eligible U.S. patients who had revision surgery prior to December 19, 2016.
In 2012, Stryker recalled its Rejuvenate Modular-Neck and ABG II Modular-Neck hip stem implants following the issuance of an “Urgent Field Notice” to implant surgeons and hospital risk managers about the devices’ health hazards—which include tissue and bone death and early device failure. If you or a loved one has experienced complications after receiving a metal-on-metal hip implant, please contact us at 888-984-7988 for a confidential evaluation of your potential claim.
