More Lawsuits for Bayer and Janssen over Blood-Thinner Xarelto

A West Virginia man is suing Bayer Healthcare and Janssen Pharmaceuticals for wrongfully representing its new-generation anticoagulant Xarelto, which has been highly criticized for its uncontrollable bleeding side-effects. The suit alleges that the drug companies were negligent in communicating Xarelto’s safety risks, concealed knowledge of its dangerous defects, and fraudulently claimed that the drug had been tested and was deemed safe and/or effective for its intended use. As a result of these misrepresentations, he suffered life-threatening bleeding injuries, severe physical and emotional pain and anguish, and other damages, according to the suit. Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, his claim joins hundreds of other lawsuits that have been filed across the U.S. and Canada, all alleging similar claims against Xarelto and its manufacturers.
