Hyland’s Teething Tablets Recalled in Singapore

Following a September 2016 FDA news release advising against the use of homeopathic teething tablets and gels, Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority announced that the distributor of Hyland’s brand teething products in Singapore has issued a product recall. Teething tablets and gels sparked concern after reports in the U.S. linked the medications to the deaths of ten children and hundreds of adverse events. While the FDA continues to analyze the reports, consumers are warned to stop using the tablets and gels and seek immediate medical care if their child experiences any of the following symptoms: seizures, difficulty breathing, lethargy, excessive sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, constipation, difficulty urinating, or agitation.
