Biomet Sued Again over its Metal-on-Metal Hip Implant
In April 2015, a Louisiana man filed a lawsuit over his Biomet Orthopedics metal-on-metal hip implant, which had to be removed after its premature failure. The device, along with similar models manufactured by companies such as Zimmer, Stryker, and DePuy, has been the subject of much scrutiny in recent years for causing metallic debris to spread into the bloodstream, causing metallosis and other life-threatening health problems affecting the lungs, kidneys, central nervous system and heart. This suit joins thousands of others seeking relief from the physical and emotional pain and suffering plaintiffs endured upon receiving an unsafe metal-on-metal hip implant.
